Mike launched his career in padel in 1993. As a former ranked ATP Tour doubles tennis player, ranked collegiate and junior player, Mike has played in every padel World Championships from 1994 to 2018. mike lead the U.S. team as the team captain and helped the U.S. team achieve its highest ranking as 7th in the world.
Mike has served as president of The United States Padel Association since 1998, and is also responsible for certifying teachers in the sport of padel. In addition to helping padel grow and expand in the United States, Mike assisted in the formation of the Swiss Padel Association as well as certification of their pros. He was instrumental in bringing the first court to Switzerland and player development and coaching. Mike also installed the first padel court in Nassau, Bahamas at The Albany Club.
Mike´s goal is to see padel grow in popularity in the United States with millions of players of all ages exposed to the sport. He strengthened his business skills as the Director of Racquet Sports at the renowned facility, The Houstonian Hotel, Club and Spa which was the first facility to offer padel in the US back in 1994. Mike received his Bachelors in Business from The University of Louisiana in Monroe and has been fascinated with entrepreneurialism having opened his own padel facility called iPadel Houston in 2016.
